Doh, I forgot something

Hehe, something big in fact. Just about a week ago, I could start to feel some fluttering. After continually watching for that same feeling over and over again and ruling out that it was just a gas pain, or a digestion bubble, it was ruled that they were punches and jabs of baby Jack. I could finally feel him.

Although Sean will still have some time until he feel him externally, I can't wait until we can both feel him externally. It will be something else.

Yesterday was the first day he was going crazy. I had a pretty decent lunch filled with some sugary items, and oh my gosh. It was a movement fest. He was all over the place. It was like he was having a party.

Wowza, time to catch you up.

So lets see. Where did I leave you guys off. Oh yes, @ 12 weeks.

Week 13 - Well....I can't really remember what happened here. Oops

Week 14 - The week started off with a little fun visit to the 4d ultrasound facility. I found this location online, in which you can pay a minimal fee to find out at at earlier time than you normal scheduled 20w ultrasound, what you are having. They say they can detect the s, sex as early at 13w.

So at 12:30pm in Costa Mesa we awaited to be called back. Pumped to see if the baby would let us view what "It" was we also knew that there would be a chance that we couldn't see anything, and even if we did see something, there was a chance that it could be wrong.

So the lady started her ultrasound and the baby was sitting on its rear like it was sitting in a chair. We quickly noticed the baby had the hiccups and it would bounce around a little bit, and after it wouldn't move into position, the tech advised that I stand up touch the floor, roll onto my sides and so on. After about 10 minutes, the baby finally moved. To our surprise, now the umbilical cord was right over the good. Stubborn baby...just like his father we said :) But just a few short seconds later, the cord moved, and vwola! IT'S A BOY!

Feeling like we were floating we could finally call our baby by a name knowing that it was a boy.

Jack Stephen Plunkett.

With a flood of phone calls made in just a short span on time, everyone was overjoyed!

PS - One of the photos is quite creepy. I wish I could say cute, but it's kinda odd. Baby Jack is now showing off his spinal cord in full detail with all it's little sections, as well as brain inside that large skull of his. All could be see on the photo.

Week 15 - POP! Yup, I officially have a belly. I can't hide it anymore, suck it in, or wear normal clothes. It's either normal clothes totally undone with a belly band, or maternity clothes. Quickly realizing that all my shirts were waaaay too short and not getting any longer, a trip to the store to get some longer shirts was necessary.

Registry...so we got an early start. With now semi, kinda, knowing that it's a boy, and hoping that they are correct, we went for it.

Over the weekend we headed over to Babies R Us and completed the research, test, and scan. It took about 2 hours, and Sean made it through with flying colors. Not a complaint in site...ok except for the shopping cart that just got in the way all the time, and he finally ditched. He did chime in on the big items, but as for the little stuff he left that up to mommy.

Week 15.5 - Dr's appointment day - So today was just a normal OB check (the technical term for a weight, blood pressure, urine test, measure and heartbeat check). All told takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish. But Sean did join me b/c this would be the one of very very few visits that would be with the actual doctor that would deliver the baby.

***Side note...he delivered Sam (Alexis' brother) 25 years ago, and to my knowledge my mom has been seeing him ever since (well she is currently and she has a very good relationship with that dr.)

We both felt very comfortable with our doctor after the visit today, especially after talking with a few mommy friends over the past few weeks and the man is very well known. He's an expert in his field, has an amazing practice and so on. We're in good hands.

The doctor gave us (baby and I) a good bill of health, and sent us on our merry way. Jacks heartbeat was at 165 today, and the tummy measured at 14.

After my dr's appointment I had a follow up appointment at the genetic center for a 2nd trimester blood test, as well as 2 other tests that I had elected for and got approval for.

***Oh yeah, our first trimester tests all came back negative. A happy face for us.

I think that gets you guys up to date. I know I'm bad with getting things scanned and photos uploaded, but I hope to have them up for you guys soon. :)
