Heartbeat,...so cool!

So after we hit a certain point on the HCG scale they sent us in for an ultrasound to find out how big the baby was, do some measurements, and calculate my due date.

Friday arrived and I was told to drink two full bottles of water before arriving so they could get a good picture. This was VERY difficult...I think I only got like 1.5 down before I felt horribly uncomfortable and decided to stop.

Sean didn't think he was going to be able to make it due to scheduling conflicts at work, but some how some way he make it work. Yay, for that and I was very thankful.

Going into this appointment I was ridden with sadness and apprehension. As you might gather, with the first pregnancy this was the location in which I was told I was having a miscarriage. So to have Sean with me,...was very calming.

I get called back (and into a different room then the first that took place - yay) and she set me up and starts her "looking." Just then Sean walks in as he was just arriving. A few minutes later I finally ask, "do everything look ok, can we see a heartbeat?" The tech states, "yes everything looks fine and let me show you the heartbeat but I won't be able to tell you your due date today until the radiologist takes a look and does the calculations." She stated that we would not be able to hear the heartbeat, but would be able to see the flicker.

Let me just tell you, I was relieved!!! Yes although only about 7 weeks at this point, I atleast knew that something was going right until this point.

She finished up her "looking" and sent us on our merry way. As Sean and I headed to the parking lot he comments "that was pretty cool."

***Note no pictures of our baby Plunkett at this point as it was office policy at the ultrasound office. They stated they would provide them late.
